WHATSOEVER WE ASK
Many a time we ask believing and we receive; but not all things asked at times are given. Asking is an act of making a request or petition. Our GOD is still alive and still hears request and petitions. Delays to request and petitions many a time are caused by not keeping GOD’s commandments and not doing what pleases GOD. Many even ask amiss and not according to the will of GOD. James 4 vs. 3: Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. How can a man who keeps not GOD’s commandments and doesn’t please GOD pray to HIM and he answers? GOD cannot behold iniquity; His eyes are too pure to behold them. Isaiah 59 vs.1: Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Vs.2: But your iniquities have separated between you and your GOD and your sins have hid his face from you that he will not hear. 1 John 3 vs. 22: And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. Vs.23: And this is his commandment that we should believe on the name of his son JESUS CHRIST, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. Whatsoever we ask, we receive from HIM provided we keep his commandments, please him and believe in the name of JESUS. Matthew 7 vs.7: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; vs. 8: For everyone that ask receive, and he that seek find, and to him that knock it shall be opened. Vs.9: Or what man is there of you, who if his son ask bread, will give him a stone? Vs. 10: Or if he asks a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Furthermore, when a man asks in the name of JESUS he receives, provided he believe and pleases GOD. When a man seeks in the name of JESUS, he finds; when a man knocks in the name of JESUS it opens. Psalm 50 vs. 15: And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Psalm 91 vs. 15: He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. These come to pass when a man set his love upon GOD. Psalm 91 vs. 14: Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. David snatched Uriah’s wife Bathsheba and yet wrote a letter to Joab to set Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle and retire from him, that he may be smitten and die. 2 Samuel 12 vs. 13: And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, the LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. Vs. 14: Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die. Vs. 15 b: And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick. Vs. 16: David therefore besought GOD for the child; and David fasted and went in and lay all night upon the earth. But with all these he did, the child died. It is always good to do the right thing in the sight of our Maker, so that whatsoever we ask in his name believing we receive. It is well with us…
