TRAPPED BY YOUR OWN DESIRES 2

TRAPPED BY YOUR OWN DESIRES 2
Proverbs 5 vs. 21-22 (NIV): For a man’s way are in full view of the LORD and he examines all his paths. The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. Vs. 23: He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly. GOD sees clearly everything we do; He knows our thought, desires and imaginations. A man’s sinful desire will trap and ensnares him. A sinful desire is like a rope holding a man down. A sinful desire doesn’t glorify GOD. A sinful desire is against GOD’s will for a man’s life. A sinful desire destroys a man. We have to ask GOD to grant and fulfill our desires if only it glorifies HIM. Samson a Nazarite to GOD from the womb was trapped by his own desires. Judges 13 vs. 7: But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing; for the child shall be a Nazarite to GOD from the womb to the day of his death. Judges 14 vs. 2: And he came up and told his father and his mother, and said; I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore get her for me to wife. Vs. 3: Then his father and mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father; get her for me; for she pleases me well. Judges 16 vs. 1: Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there a harlot, and went in unto her. Vs. 4: And it came to pass afterwards that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. Vs.5: And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, entice him; and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him, and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver. Judges 16 vs. 21: But the Philistines took him and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house. A man so powerful became a slave and was destroyed with his enemies. That is what a sinful desire will do.

Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 6 vs. 18-20: Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body: but he that commits fornication sins against his own body. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of GOD, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify GOD in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. Our desires should glorify GOD and not men. Many have defiled themselves just to meet their wants and desires. We are to be mindful of our desires; because some desires enslaves us and put us in bondage. Esau sold his birthright because of his desire for pottage. Genesis 25 vs. 29: And Jacob sod pottage; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint. Vs. 30: And Esau said to Jacob, feed me, I pray thee with that same red pottage; for I am faint, therefore was his name called Edom. Vs. 31: And Jacob said, sell me this day thy birthright. Vs. 32: And Esau said, behold, I am at the point to die; and what profit shall this birthright do to me? Are you on the verge of being trapped and enslaved by your own desires? Let go of it and delight in GOD so He can bring his will and plan for your life to pass. Don’t forget to share with others. It is well with us….

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY Integrity is a word which means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It also means the quality or condition of being complete and pure. It could also mean honesty, uprightness, purity, sincerity, decency, virtuous and wholeness. To retain is to keep in possession and maintain something. Many a time people find it difficult retaining their integrity. It takes determination to stand on your integrity. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. GOD is a lover of men of integrity. Daniel 1 vs. 8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. Now GOD had brought Daniel into favor and tender love wi...

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

AN OUTCAST

AN OUTCAST An outcast is one that has been excluded from a society or system. He is labeled a beggar. He is an outsider. An outcast is a person that lacks care. An outcast is neglected and overlooked. He is demoralized. He is wounded in heart. He is labeled whom no one cares. He is one that has lost hope. He is one who is frustrated and dejected. He is one who is always deep in thoughts and sorrowful. He is one who lives like a foreigner in his own land. He is one who is distressed. He is one who gets dispossessed of his possessions. He is one who is perplexed. He is one who is troubled on every side. He is one who is despair. He is afraid of tomorrow. CHRIST came that we might have a restored hope. He came to bare that burden of ours. He came to give us that expected end. He came that we might have peace. He came that we might be healed . Isaiah 53 vs. 5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and w...
