TRAPPED BY YOUR OWN DESIRES 1

TRAPPED BY YOUR OWN DESIRES 1
Everybody has a desire and some desires glorify GOD, while some do not. Desire is a strong feeling of wanting something. Many get trapped by their desires. The LORD our GOD knows our needs, desires and expectations; we are to delight ourselves in the LORD, commit our ways unto the LORD so he can give us our desires. Psalm 37 vs. 4-5: Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Many have desires that are against GOD’s will. Many have desires that will take the place of GOD. Many have desires that will lead to disobedience to GOD’s will. Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10 vs. 5: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalt itself against the knowledge of GOD, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of CHRIST. There are imaginations and desires that will repel a man from GOD’s plan and will for his life. We have to be mindful in our imaginations and desires. When a man’s desire is against GOD’s will, it destroys the man. Many have been trapped and consumed by their desires, because it is contrary to GOD’s plan for them. The LORD our GOD is OMNISCIENCE, OMNIPOTENT AND OMNIPRESENCE. OMNISCIENCE means He knows all things; OMNIPOTENT means He is all powerful, OMNIPRESENCE means He is present everywhere. GOD knows all things, He created ALL. He is the ALL SUFFICIENT GOD. He knows that desire in your heart, He knows the right time to answer that petition and request of yours; He is able to do all things, He is the sovereign GOD, All power belong to HIM. That desire of yours can be granted, provided it is in line with GOD’s will.

Imagine a two years old boy desiring to have a ride at his age; GOD would not provide that at his age, but will provide at the right time. GOD knows the best for our lives, but we are so impatience at times. That impatience has destroyed a lot of people; when you exalt your imaginations and desires against GOD’s will for your life, you regret afterwards. Many have envied others wealth and fame and are desperate to be more wealthy and famous. Many envy evil men without reverencing GOD. Proverbs 23 vs. 17-18: Let not thine heart envy sinners; but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectations shall not be cut off. There is an end to your waiting period, there is an end to your trials, there is an end to your sorrows, there is an end to your grievances; there is an end to your difficulties, there is an end to your hopelessness. With GOD your future is bright, with GOD your hopes can be restored, with GOD your expectations will not be cut off; with GOD your heart desires can be granted, provided it is in accordance with His will. Tomorrow, we shall see biblical examples of people who were trapped by their own desires. Look forward reading that and don’t forget to share with others. It is well with us….

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

AN OUTCAST

AN OUTCAST An outcast is one that has been excluded from a society or system. He is labeled a beggar. He is an outsider. An outcast is a person that lacks care. An outcast is neglected and overlooked. He is demoralized. He is wounded in heart. He is labeled whom no one cares. He is one that has lost hope. He is one who is frustrated and dejected. He is one who is always deep in thoughts and sorrowful. He is one who lives like a foreigner in his own land. He is one who is distressed. He is one who gets dispossessed of his possessions. He is one who is perplexed. He is one who is troubled on every side. He is one who is despair. He is afraid of tomorrow. CHRIST came that we might have a restored hope. He came to bare that burden of ours. He came to give us that expected end. He came that we might have peace. He came that we might be healed . Isaiah 53 vs. 5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and w...

WHEN YOUR SAMUEL COMES

WHEN YOUR SAMUEL COMES Hannah made a vowed which GOD honors and remembered her.   1 Samuel 1 vs. 19-20: And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD and returned and came to their house to Ramah; and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her. Wherefore it came to pass when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying because I have asked him of the LORD.      What a wonderful GOD! She asked for a man child and He gave her exactly. She should have asked for sets of twin or triplet, which GOD would have given her. There is nothing GOD cannot do, He cannot be limited. With Him all things are possible. Mind you Hannah fulfilled her vow by giving the son back to him. Many make vows and don’t fulfill it. Be conscious of these, GOD’s way are not the ways of men, His thoughts are not ours. GOD has his own timing. His timing doesn’t match with the timing of ...
