THE HEATHEN’S RAGE
The heathen here refers to nations and the word rage means violent and uncontrolled anger. The heathen’s rage is a common thing in the world. You see people conspiring against each other; you see people devising means to bring another down, you see men planning harm and evil against men like themselves. You see men not happy with a man’s progress; you see men that thirst for other men’s blood. What a world! You see men not seeing anything good in what you do, despite doing well. You see men ready to frustrate a man’s effort. You see men desperate to make a man worthless and useless. You see men unsatisfied despite satisfying them; you see men imagine vain things against another. Psalm 2 vs. 1-3: Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying: let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. The heathen raged and people imagined vain things against the LORD and against his anointed. The anointed here was JESUS, despite all evidences of miracles, signs and wonders; the people still imagined vain things against Him. The kings of the earth stood up and the rulers gathered together against the LORD and against CHRIST. Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel conspired against GOD’s anointed JESUS. Though all these happened that the scriptures might be fulfilled. They forgot there is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. Proverb 21 vs. 30: There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. They forgot the bible said touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm. Psalm 2 vs. 4: He that sits in heavens shall laugh; the LORD shall have them in derision.
However, after Peter and John healed the lame man at the beautiful gate and taught people about CHRIST, they were seized and jailed. The priest and captain of temple guard, and Sadducees were grieved, because they were proclaiming the good news. They questioned them by what power or name have they performed miracle. They saw the healed man and were not convinced. They conferred among themselves what should be done. Act 3 vs. 16: Saying, what shall we do to these men? For that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. Vs. 17: But that is spread no further among the people, let us straightly threaten them that they speak henceforth to no man in his name. The heathen rage against the LORD and his anointed, but they were being laughed at by GOD, for He has them in derision. As a bonafide child of GOD, you are his anointed. The heathen will surely rage against you, but be rest assured they shall be confounded and dismayed. You just have to call upon your Father GOD, to come to your rescue. He will surely deliver you from all sorts of rage. 1 Chronicles 16 vs. 22: Saying, touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. It is well with us…
