BEING FULL OF YOURSELF
The flesh will always
want to be pleased. The spirit is willing, it quickeneth; but the flesh is weak
and profits nothing. Engaging yourself in worldly things draws GOD’s Spirit far
from you. If you draw nearer to GOD, He will also draw nearer to you. Many hearts
are filled with ungodly thing. A man’s heart should be guarded with all
diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4 vs. 23: Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are
the issues of life. A man’s heart must be filled with godly things. The
Psalmist said in Psalm 119 vs. 11: Thy
word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against you. He knew
worldly things might occupy his heart; he hid GOD’s word inside his heart; so
he might not sin against GOD. When a man is full of himself, GOD cannot fill
him. When a man is full of himself, he walks after the flesh and fulfills the
lust of the flesh. Galatians 5 vs. 16-
17: This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of
the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the spirit, and the spirit against the
flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the
things that ye would. It is important to be filled with the Holy Spirit;
rather than being filled with worldliness. The spirit is contrary to the flesh.
When a man is full of himself, he is under the law. Galatians 5 vs. 18: But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under
the law. When a man is full of himself, he is of the world and the love of
the Father is not in him. 1 John 2 vs.
15-16: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man
loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the
world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,
is not of the Father, but is of the world. Vs. 17: And the world passeth away,
and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of GOD abideth forever. The
will of GOD is walking in the Spirit, the will of GOD is being filled by the
Spirit of GOD. The disciples were fully filled with the Spirit of GOD, on the
day of Pentecost. After that encounter, they were bold and could perform
miracles, signs and wonders which they couldn’t do before.
