BREAKING THE HEDGE

BREAKING THE HEDGE
I write on this fascinating topic “Breaking the Hedge”. Breaking the hedge is not advisable, because one becomes vulnerable to attacks. A hedge prevents one from attacks. A hedge is a mound of earth, stone or turf faced, often topped with bushes, used as fence. It can also be defined as an arrangement reducing ones exposure to risk. The hedge is essential in the life of a man. Biblically, the hedge represents a shield, it represents a wall of fire, it represents our defense, and it represents our refuge and fortress. The Psalmist says but thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory and the lifter of my head. GOD was his shield, GOD was his refuge and fortress, GOD was his defense, GOD was his glory, GOD was the lifter up of his head, because GOD delights in him. GOD builds a hedge around those who fear him. GOD builds a hedge around those who trust him. Job 1 vs. 9-10: Then satan answered the Lord, and said, Does Job fear GOD for nothing? Have not You made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands and his substance is increased in the land. GOD makes a hedge around the upright. No wonder the bible says Job was a perfect and upright, and one that feared GOD and eschewed evil. Psalm 18 vs. 30: As for GOD, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried; he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. GOD’s hedge around a man makes him untouchable, unexposed and unstoppable. Psalm 91 vs. 4: He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shall thou trust; his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Only those GOD build a hedge around are covered with his feathers and they trust under his wings. Oh the Bible is perfect! Psalm 127 vs. 1: Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it, except the Lord keep the city, the watch man wakes but in vain. Only GOD never sleeps nor slumber, the watch men can sleep and slumber anytime. They wake, but in vain.

However, many break the hedge GOD built around them by not fearing GOD, not doing his will, not being upright, not trusting GOD, not living a righteous life, trusting in the arm of flesh, leaning on their own understanding. Ecclesiastes 10 vs. 8b: and whoso breaketh a hedge, a serpent shall bite him. It is not advisable for a man to break GOD’s hedge around him. When the hedge is broken, a man becomes exposed and vulnerable to the serpent. It is risky to break the hedge around you. The Israelites murmured against GOD, they were against GOD’s will to take them from slavery to the promise land. They never trusted GOD. Numbers 21 vs. 5-6: They began to murmur against GOD and to complain against Moses. “Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they whined. There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink, and we hate this insipid manna. So the Lord sent poisonous snakes among them to punish them, and many of them were bitten and died. They broke the hedge GOD built around them; they were bitten by the serpent. When a man start questioning GOD’s provision, GOD’s will, and GOD’s protection, he has broken the hedge and the serpent shall bite. Many have broken the hedge through sins; the bible says the soul that sinneth shall die. Many have been bitten by the serpent; you need to look unto JESUS, the Author and finisher of our Faith, so you can live again; so his hedge around you can be restored. It is well with us!

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY Integrity is a word which means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It also means the quality or condition of being complete and pure. It could also mean honesty, uprightness, purity, sincerity, decency, virtuous and wholeness. To retain is to keep in possession and maintain something. Many a time people find it difficult retaining their integrity. It takes determination to stand on your integrity. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. GOD is a lover of men of integrity. Daniel 1 vs. 8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. Now GOD had brought Daniel into favor and tender love wi...

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

AN OUTCAST

AN OUTCAST An outcast is one that has been excluded from a society or system. He is labeled a beggar. He is an outsider. An outcast is a person that lacks care. An outcast is neglected and overlooked. He is demoralized. He is wounded in heart. He is labeled whom no one cares. He is one that has lost hope. He is one who is frustrated and dejected. He is one who is always deep in thoughts and sorrowful. He is one who lives like a foreigner in his own land. He is one who is distressed. He is one who gets dispossessed of his possessions. He is one who is perplexed. He is one who is troubled on every side. He is one who is despair. He is afraid of tomorrow. CHRIST came that we might have a restored hope. He came to bare that burden of ours. He came to give us that expected end. He came that we might have peace. He came that we might be healed . Isaiah 53 vs. 5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and w...
