EXPECT TEMPTATION

EXPECT TEMPTATION Temptation, temptation , temptation. What a word, what is temptation? Have you being tempted? Were you able to overcome temptation? The questions above were asked because everyone on one instance or the other have being tempted; even myself have being tempted before. If you have not being tempted before, expect it; if you have once being in temptation, expect more. Temptation is the strong desire to do or have something that you know is bad or wrong. You know it is wrong, yet a desire comes to do it; that is temptation. It is an evil act. A portion of the lord’s prayer says “ lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil ”. If you have being tempted before, you will have the impression at first to do the thing, and then before you know it; you see yourself doing it. However, behind every temptation there is a tempter, the tempter is the devil. He moves to and fro looking for whom to devour and tempt. He is behind the persuading act; he persuades one to do things which are wrong and can’t give one a happy end. You notice if you have being tempted before, there is this constant conviction all over you; before you know it you agree and consent. JESUS CHRIST was tempted thrice by the devil when, he had fasted for forty days and forty night. The tempter came to him, and JESUS overcame him by the word of GOD. If JESUS can be tempted , expect temptation; if JESUS can overcome the tempter by the word of GOD, then obviously we can too. JESUS knew temptation will surely come, that why he told us to watch and pray that we enter not into temptation. Don’t only watch, pray likewise; because our flesh is weak, very weak and can be easily tempted. But when you watch and pray, you surely won’t fall into temptation. Also, the scriptures said “resist the devil and he shall flee”. When you hear a voice convincing you to do what you know is a sin before your maker or wrong, it is the devil, resist him immediately and he shall flee. Temptation comes not only from the opposite sex, you can be tempted to change a document in your place of work or steal; it comes in diverse ways. Be prepared for it, because it shall come. Remember, if JESUS was tempted you can’t escape being tempted; and if he overcome it, then you can also overcome. Stay blessed…….share to others

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY Integrity is a word which means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It also means the quality or condition of being complete and pure. It could also mean honesty, uprightness, purity, sincerity, decency, virtuous and wholeness. To retain is to keep in possession and maintain something. Many a time people find it difficult retaining their integrity. It takes determination to stand on your integrity. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. GOD is a lover of men of integrity. Daniel 1 vs. 8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. Now GOD had brought Daniel into favor and tender love wi...

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

AN OUTCAST

AN OUTCAST An outcast is one that has been excluded from a society or system. He is labeled a beggar. He is an outsider. An outcast is a person that lacks care. An outcast is neglected and overlooked. He is demoralized. He is wounded in heart. He is labeled whom no one cares. He is one that has lost hope. He is one who is frustrated and dejected. He is one who is always deep in thoughts and sorrowful. He is one who lives like a foreigner in his own land. He is one who is distressed. He is one who gets dispossessed of his possessions. He is one who is perplexed. He is one who is troubled on every side. He is one who is despair. He is afraid of tomorrow. CHRIST came that we might have a restored hope. He came to bare that burden of ours. He came to give us that expected end. He came that we might have peace. He came that we might be healed . Isaiah 53 vs. 5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and w...
