BIG FOR NOTHING

BIG FOR NOTHING Everyone aims to become big in life’s goals; which is something good. Nobody will like to belittle himself or herself. It is one thing to be big; it is another thing to be fulfilled. It is a disaster, if you are big for nothing. What I meant by that is when you think you have been fulfilled, yet you have no bearing or directions; it is a disaster. Many fail in their journey of purpose, just because they are big for nothing. When a man has no direction and bearing, he will surely miss his way of purpose. Show me a man of purpose and I will tell you he has direction and bearing. Imagine this, you are thrown into a thick bush and asked to find your way out; without a device like a compass, gps and a map, such a fellow will miss ways several times. He will surely find it hard to find his way out of the thick bush. That is how it is, you can be big; but be nothing, also you can be nothing, but be big. A vessel is a massive structure built for voyage on water or by sea. It is also called a ship, if you have seen it before you will know its massive and big. It was built just for a purpose, some vessel are for passengers while some are built for carrying bulky loads and container. The vessel’s body is massive, but there is an important part of the vessel that controls direction; without this part the vessel can remain at a spot for years, she can miss her way, she won’t continue her voyage i.e journey, Without this part, the captain of the ship looks foolish, this part is called the rudder. It is a primary control surface used to steer a ship. It is used for controlling directions of the ship. It is underneath the ship, although it is not as big as the body of the vessel, but without it in a vessel; such a vessel is big for nothing. If the vessel is to move in the NW direction, and she is steered to the SE, it might bring disaster to the crew members on board the vessel; that is why the rudder is so vital in a ship. Though primarily, but without it a vessel is big for nothing. And also in our life, the rudder can be likened to the Holy spirit. It is the spirit of GOD; no one knows GOD’s thought except GOD’s own spirit. This spirit quickeneth, it teaches us all things, it leads and direct, it comfort, it helps our infirmity. Without this spirit in a man’s life, he is big for nothing. If you don’t have this spirit, you will have no directions; just like the vessel without a rudder. The spirit leads and direct us to our promise land, our purpose and goals; it won’t allow us miss our way of purpose, because it will surely teach us all things and direct us. Beloveth, we need this spirit so we won’t just move up and down with no bearing and direction. The spirit is vital, as many that are led by the spirit; they are the sons of GOD. The spirit is an evidence of GOD on earth, to have it you must live a pure and holy life, because it is a holy spirit. It can’t dwell in an unholy life, the bible said where the spirit of GOD is; there is liberty, GOD himself is the spirit. When you have the holy spirit, you will not be big for nothing. You might be nothing in the sight of people, but be big in the eye of GOD.

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY Integrity is a word which means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It also means the quality or condition of being complete and pure. It could also mean honesty, uprightness, purity, sincerity, decency, virtuous and wholeness. To retain is to keep in possession and maintain something. Many a time people find it difficult retaining their integrity. It takes determination to stand on your integrity. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. GOD is a lover of men of integrity. Daniel 1 vs. 8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. Now GOD had brought Daniel into favor and tender love wi...

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

WINNING THROUGH TESTIMONIES

WINNING THROUGH TESTIMONIES 2! An earthly father will be delighted and willing to do more for his son or daughter, when she/he shows gratitude. How will you feel when you give something tangible to a person and he didn’t show gratitude? You will feel unwilling to do more for such person. Our heavenly Father deserves to be shown gratitude for all He has done in our lives. Thank GOD for what He has done in the past, what He is doing presently and what He will do in the future. There is no little testimony; you just have to appreciate GOD for his faithfulness and marvelous deeds. Marvelous deeds like, the gift of life, which is the greatest of all blessings, good health and sound mind, sleeping and waking up. Many slept and never woke up, while many find it difficult to sleep. We have to see reasons to appreciate GOD; doing these will gladden Him to do more for us.              However, problems, trials, challenges might be in...
