WHAT A FRIEND !

WHAT A FRIEND!
There are friends and there are friends. We all have friends. Friends are people other than a family member whose company one enjoys and towards whom one feels affection. A friend is an associate who provides assistance. A friend is a person who backs and supports you. A friend defends you always. A friend doesn’t desert you. A friend doesn’t scorn you. A friend is not an enemy. A friend in need is a friend indeed. A friend cares for you. A friend prays for you. All these mentioned can only be exhibited by a true friend. Most worldly friends are deceitful; they are jealous and pretend to be your friend. Job’s friends scorned him while in his circumstances, despite mourning and comforting him. Job 16 vs. 20: My friends scorn me; but mine eye poureth out tears unto GOD. Just for you to know most earthly friends are like Job’s friends. They are pretenders; they mourn with you, rejoice with you and desert you when in a difficult circumstances. Show me a true friend and I will tell you he will always stand by you come what may; show me an earthly friend and I will tell you when faced with difficulty he won’t stand by you for long. Earthly friend’s make their friendship based on condition, while a true friend makes his friendship unconditionally.

However, Proverbs 18 vs. 24: There are “friends” who pretend to be friends, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. This verse defines a true friend and an earthly friend. Earthly friends pretend to be friends, but a true friend sticks closer than your blood brother. JESUS is the only true friend! He came and died for our sins, he said “in this world we shall face trials and temptations, but we should be of good cheers he has overcome the world”. He said cast all your cares on me for I care for them. He loved us all. What more does a person needs than a true friend. No earthly friend can do these. A hymn writer says: What a friend we have in JESUS, all our sins and grief’s to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to GOD in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there troubled anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the LORD in prayer. JESUS knows our every weakness. Can we find a friend as faithful as him? NO! Even while we were yet sinners he died for us. What a friend! We are to do whatsoever the true friend commands. John 15 vs 14: Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. It is well with us…..

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY Integrity is a word which means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It also means the quality or condition of being complete and pure. It could also mean honesty, uprightness, purity, sincerity, decency, virtuous and wholeness. To retain is to keep in possession and maintain something. Many a time people find it difficult retaining their integrity. It takes determination to stand on your integrity. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. GOD is a lover of men of integrity. Daniel 1 vs. 8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. Now GOD had brought Daniel into favor and tender love wi...

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

AN OUTCAST

AN OUTCAST An outcast is one that has been excluded from a society or system. He is labeled a beggar. He is an outsider. An outcast is a person that lacks care. An outcast is neglected and overlooked. He is demoralized. He is wounded in heart. He is labeled whom no one cares. He is one that has lost hope. He is one who is frustrated and dejected. He is one who is always deep in thoughts and sorrowful. He is one who lives like a foreigner in his own land. He is one who is distressed. He is one who gets dispossessed of his possessions. He is one who is perplexed. He is one who is troubled on every side. He is one who is despair. He is afraid of tomorrow. CHRIST came that we might have a restored hope. He came to bare that burden of ours. He came to give us that expected end. He came that we might have peace. He came that we might be healed . Isaiah 53 vs. 5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and w...
