THE DAYS OF ADVERSITY 1

THE DAYS OF ADVERSITY 1
I start quoting Roy T. Bennett: “Challenges and adversity are meant to help you know who you are. Storms hit your weakness but unlock your true strength”. Adversity is the state of adverse condition. It is a state of misfortune. It is unfavorable. The days of adversity either breaks or make a man. Many have been conquered in their days of adversity. Many have been knocked down in their days of adversity. The days of adversity shows how strong you are. It shows how resilience you are. Resilience is the mental ability to recover quickly from depression, misfortune, challenges, storms, difficulties, adversity. Life is no bed of roses. Life is full of challenges, difficulties, adversity, storms, depression, and oppression. Anyone expecting a life full of pleasant situations, untroubled existence is deceiving himself. But we are rest assured and have peace because CHRIST said in John 16 vs. 33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world. We are comforted by CHRIST in tribulations, adversity, storms, challenges, depression if only we hope and depend on him. 2 Corinthians 1 vs. 4: Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of GOD.

Ecclesiastes 7 vs. 14: In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider GOD also hath set the one over against the other to the end that men should find nothing after him. This verse shows nothing is certain in life. Whether you are good or bad the days of adversity await you; but be rest assured you can be more than a conqueror through JESUS CHRIST our LORD because, He overcame the world. Facing the days of adversity; with GOD by your side make you unmovable and more than a conqueror; facing the days of adversity without GOD by your side make the adversity move you and defeat you. The Psalmist says in Psalms 16 vs. 8: I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. David was greatly distressed when the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved; when the Amalekites took their people captive. He took himself up and encouraged himself in the LORD his GOD that’s Resilience. He recovered quickly from the distress, cry, depression and enquired from the LORD. 1 Samuel 30 vs. 8: And David enquired at the LORD, saying, shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, pursue; for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. That situation, adversity, challenges of yours putting you off and disturbing you won’t let go easily, unless you put yourself together, encourage yourself in the LORD and enquire from GOD just like David did. It is well with us…..

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY Integrity is a word which means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It also means the quality or condition of being complete and pure. It could also mean honesty, uprightness, purity, sincerity, decency, virtuous and wholeness. To retain is to keep in possession and maintain something. Many a time people find it difficult retaining their integrity. It takes determination to stand on your integrity. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. GOD is a lover of men of integrity. Daniel 1 vs. 8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. Now GOD had brought Daniel into favor and tender love wi...

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

AN OUTCAST

AN OUTCAST An outcast is one that has been excluded from a society or system. He is labeled a beggar. He is an outsider. An outcast is a person that lacks care. An outcast is neglected and overlooked. He is demoralized. He is wounded in heart. He is labeled whom no one cares. He is one that has lost hope. He is one who is frustrated and dejected. He is one who is always deep in thoughts and sorrowful. He is one who lives like a foreigner in his own land. He is one who is distressed. He is one who gets dispossessed of his possessions. He is one who is perplexed. He is one who is troubled on every side. He is one who is despair. He is afraid of tomorrow. CHRIST came that we might have a restored hope. He came to bare that burden of ours. He came to give us that expected end. He came that we might have peace. He came that we might be healed . Isaiah 53 vs. 5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and w...
