WHAT’S
GAIN 1
A
gain is suitable, profitable and of great benefit. Ellen G. White says “if you lose heaven, you lose everything; if you
gain heaven, you gain everything”. Something’s are worth gaining, some are
worth losing. The world is not worth gaining, but heaven is worth gaining. Matthew 16 vs. 25: For whosoever will save
his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find
it. Vs. 26: For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and
lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? JESUS
told his disciples denying themselves, taking up their cross and following HIM
is great gain. When a man denies himself of worldly things, bringing his flesh
under subjection and doing the will of the Father GOD, it is gainful and
profitable. Gaining the whole world is not profitable, it is a great loss. Not
denying yourself of worldly things is not profitable, it is a great loss. A man
can miss and lost everything, but missing heaven is the greatest loss. A quote
goes thus; sometimes the best gain is to lose. It is a great gain, when a man
loses things that will destroy his life. It is a great gain, when a man does
the will of GOD. It is a great gain, when a man lives a sin free life. It is a
great gain, when a man lives a righteous life. It is a great gain, when a man
disassociates himself from worldly friends. The bible said evil communication,
corrupt good manners. It is a great gain, when a man set affection on things
above and not below. It is a great gain, when a man delights in the law of GOD.
It is a great gain, when a man tells other about CHRIST. It is a great gain,
when a man studies the word of GOD and does what is written therein. It is a
great gain, when a man sees CHRIST in glory. It is a great gain, when a man
inherits the kingdom of GOD. Matthew 16
vs. 27: For the son of man shall come in the glory of his father with his
angels and then, he shall reward every man according to his works. It is a
great gain, when a man finds wisdom and understanding from above. Proverb 3 vs. 13-14: Happy is the man that
findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of
it is better than the merchandise of silver band the gain thereof than fine
gold.
Gehazi
was greedy of gain, he lost everything. He should have gotten a triple portion
of anointing from Elisha, but he lost that because he wasn’t conscious of what
to gain. We must be mindful of what we gain. Not all things are worth gaining;
most things are worth losing. Proverb 15
vs. 27: He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth
gifts shall live. We have unjust gains and just gains. The unjust gains is
worth losing, but the just gain is worth gaining. It continues tomorrow….It is
well with us.
