PUTTING ASIDE YOUR OWN DESIRES

                                PUTTING ASIDE YOUR OWN DESIRES
It is easier said than done, many a times we Christians tend to say easily I can’t do these; but we find ourselves later doing them. Apostle Paul said things he ought not to be doing, he found himself doing them. As anointed as he was, if not for GOD’s grace on his life. Also we as today’s believers we find it difficult to let go of something’s, we have passion and zeal for unproductive and unfruitful things. Desire is a strong feeling of wanting something or something you want. We find out the things of this world, most believers long after are vain things. Vanity upon vanity all is vanity. Your desire might be money, yours might be fashion, and yours might be sexual feelings and other unfruitful things. The bible said let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven. Anything you have strong feelings for against GOD’s will is an idol. An idol is not necessarily an image craved, nut anything you highly exalt or can’t let go easily beside GOD, is an idol.
The bible said, seek first the kingdom of GOD and his righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you. GOD should be first in all we do, the reverse is the case for most believers. Many put GOD last and put money, fashion first. It is very wrong. GOD our creator should be put first in all we do in our daily life. Show me a man that put GOD first in all he does and I will tell you he will be successful. Let’s consider Daniel in the bible, he determined in his heart not to defile himself with the king’s meat and wine. It was because he put GOD first and that made him successful and ten times better than his mates. Lessons from Daniel in the bible, not that he doesn’t wish or liked to have taken the meat and wine, but he proposed in his heart not to defile himself with it. He put aside his desires and put GOD first.
Furthermore, as believer we are to put aside our desires no matter how strong they are and put GOD first. Putting GOD first is we doing his will and commandment’s. 2 Peter 1 vs 6 says: Next, learn to put aside your own desires so that you will become patient and godly, gladly letting GOD have his way with you. Everybody on earth has his/her own desires, but we must learn to put them aside just as 2 Peter 1 vs 6 said. Daniel learnt how to put his desires aside and he was patient and godly and gladly letting GOD have his way with him. When you put aside your desires, GOD will surely have his way through you; but when you do not put aside your desires, GOD cannot have his way through you.
Finally, the bible said walk in the spirit so that you will fulfill the works of the flesh. Brethren in faith, at these last days let’s put aside our desires and put GOD first. It is well…….

WHEN YOUR SAMUEL COMES

WHEN YOUR SAMUEL COMES Hannah made a vowed which GOD honors and remembered her.   1 Samuel 1 vs. 19-20: And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD and returned and came to their house to Ramah; and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her. Wherefore it came to pass when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying because I have asked him of the LORD.      What a wonderful GOD! She asked for a man child and He gave her exactly. She should have asked for sets of twin or triplet, which GOD would have given her. There is nothing GOD cannot do, He cannot be limited. With Him all things are possible. Mind you Hannah fulfilled her vow by giving the son back to him. Many make vows and don’t fulfill it. Be conscious of these, GOD’s way are not the ways of men, His thoughts are not ours. GOD has his own timing. His timing doesn’t match with the timing of ...

TOLERANCE

TOLERANCE I start quoting Robert Green Ingersoll “Tolerance is giving every other human being every right that you claim for yourself ”. This is a virtue every man scarcely has nowadays. Men nowadays find it difficult to tolerate each other. In all religions, Christians are to exhibit tolerance the most; because CHRIST stated that it’s the second greatest commandment. Matthew 22 vs.38-39: This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. But the reverse is the case now, most Christians exhibit intolerance. They can’t tolerate their Christian brothers talk less of those outside their religion. This is awful and not so good. Hebrews 13 vs. 1-2: Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unaware. Abraham exhibited tolerance, he suddenly noticed three men coming toward him and ran to meet them and welcomed them. He gave them water to wash their feet’s...

WINNING THROUGH TESTIMONIES

WINNING THROUGH TESTIMONIES 2! An earthly father will be delighted and willing to do more for his son or daughter, when she/he shows gratitude. How will you feel when you give something tangible to a person and he didn’t show gratitude? You will feel unwilling to do more for such person. Our heavenly Father deserves to be shown gratitude for all He has done in our lives. Thank GOD for what He has done in the past, what He is doing presently and what He will do in the future. There is no little testimony; you just have to appreciate GOD for his faithfulness and marvelous deeds. Marvelous deeds like, the gift of life, which is the greatest of all blessings, good health and sound mind, sleeping and waking up. Many slept and never woke up, while many find it difficult to sleep. We have to see reasons to appreciate GOD; doing these will gladden Him to do more for us.              However, problems, trials, challenges might be in...
