GODLY SORROW
The bible said he who the father loves he chastise, when you are chastised it because you are the son of the father (GOD). If ye endure chastening, GOD dealeth with you as with sons, for what son is he when the father chastiseneth not? When a child commits a wrong on earth, his earthly father punishes him because he loves him, not because he hates him. He punishing him is for him, to remember and next time not do the wrong. And so our heavenly father too; he sometimes allow us go through sorrow just to help us learn our lesson and turn away from sins and seek eternal life. We have Goldy sorrow and we have wordly sorrow. The Godly sorrow has the
GOD factor in it, just for all to amend our ways, repent and seek eternal life. many have faced it before, many haven’t many will still face it. 2 Corinthians 7 vs 10 says: For GOD sometimes uses sorrow in our lives to help us turn away from sin and seek eternal life. We should never regret his sending it. But the sorrow of the man who is not a Christian is not the sorrow of true repentance, and does not prevent eternal death.
However, from that verse of the bible we are made to know Godly sorrow brings us to true repentance; while worldly sorrow does not bring us to true repentance. Also, Godly sorrow leads to eternal life; while worldly sorrow leads to eternal death. Eternal life is spent in a place called Heaven, eternal death is spent in a place called hell. the bible said I set before you, life and death, I beseech you, choose life. choose eternal life and not eternal death. That Godly sorrow you are facing , is for you to kill the flesh totally and walk in the spirit; so all works of flesh will not be fulfilled. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Saul was changed to Paul; he faced the Godly sorrow on his way to Damascus, suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven, and he fell to the earth; he lost his sight and neither did eat nor drink for three days. This brought Paul to true repentance and gave him eternal life. Are you being faced by Godly sorrow? It is just for you to learn a lesson and be brought to true repentance, and when you have true repentance it leads to eternal life. It is well with your souls……………….
WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye. Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24: But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...
