I
AM GRIEVED
To be grieved means to feel very sad. It means to
mourn and to sorrow.
Genesis 6 vs. 5-6: And GOD saw that the
wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the
thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that He
had made man on the earth and it grieved Him at His heart.
The “I AM ” is
GOD. He is the I AM that I AM. He becomes grieved when men fill their hearts
with imaginations, thoughts that are evil. He becomes grieved when men do
wicked things. The wicked are GOD’s enemy, so He grieves at them. You are part
of the wicked if you grief GOD by your work of unrighteousness. All sinners are
wicked.
Psalm
7 vs. 11: GOD judges the righteous, and GOD is angry with the wicked every day.
Psalm 9 vs. 17: The wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that
forget GOD. Psalm 7 vs. 9: Oh let the wickedness
of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just; for the righteous GOD
trieth the hearts and reins.
He becomes grieved when you put other things first
than HIM. His anger was kindled against the Israelites and He sold them into
the hands of the Philistine and into the hands of the children of Ammon when the
Israelites choose serving baalim, ashtaroth and other gods.
Hebrews
10 vs. 31: It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living GOD.
The Israelites grieved Him, fell into his hands and
they were vexed and oppressed by their enemies.
He
becomes grieved when you spare the Amalekites. The Amalekites in context
represents things of the world you highly value than GOD. They can be
classified simply into three lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of
life. It might be fashion, might be properties, might be your job and business,
and might be your ungodly relationship. Saul was instructed to totally destroy
the Amalekites and everything that belong to them, but he spared Agag and the
best of the sheep’s and cattle, the calves and lambs, everything that was good.
He grieved GOD by not carrying out his instruction. To obey is better than
sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. We have to come back to
GOD, though He has mercy on whom He has mercy on; and compassion on whom He has
compassion upon, and ask for His mercy and compassion. We have to cast down
imagination and every high thing that exalt itself against GOD’s knowledge in
our lives and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of CHRIST.

us.
