THE PIRATE EXPERIENCE

THE PIRATE EXPERIENCE
Experience they say is the best teacher. There are disgusting experiences. There are experiences called the fiery test tube. There are unpleasant experiences. There are experience a man faces that shakes his faith. There are experiences that bring out the good, bad and ugly. Eleanor Roosevelt wrote “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience”. Also, Ralph Waldo Emeron wrote “All I have seen teaches me to trust the creator for all I have not seen”. Everyone will surely face one experience or the other; but trusting in GOD makes one come out strong and victorious in any experience he/she face. Job faced his own experience, but he was steadfast and believed in the Redeemer. He said in Job 23 vs. 8-12: Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold him, when He turns to the right hand, I cannot see him. But He knows the way I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. He was tested and he came forth as gold, because his foots follow the steps of GOD. He came forth as gold in his experience because he didn’t turn aside. Many turn away from GOD when they are faced by unpleasant experience. He came forth as gold because he didn’t depart from GOD’s commandment and treasure GOD’s words than his food.
That fateful morning, I believed in the Redeemer that keeps Israel and neither sleeps nor slumbers and told him to see me through my trip from the island where I was to the upland. It’s almost an hour plus voyage on the sea. However, before my trip there have been news about pirates raiding the sea and dispossessing people of their goods and belongings. But I was rest assured of what the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 23 vs. 4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. On our voyage, about thirty minute the boat driver suddenly changed our course and said the pirate’s boat is approaching; then he started heading back towards the jetty where we came from; people on the boat were in disarray. I was like what is happening, but I believed in GOD.  Some were clamoring and shouting that the boat driver should run faster, some were calling the name of JESUS because we saw the said pirate’s boat following our boat. Suddenly, our boat engine stopped amidst the sea and the said pirate’s boat met our boat. At that point people in the boat hiding their valuables; fortunately for us the said pirate’s boat wasn’t that of a pirate; it was a passenger’s boat just like ours. Everybody’s mind was brought back to rest again and our course was changed back again. What an Experience! No matter the experience you find yourself trust GOD and He will never fail you; provided you treasure his words, obey his commandments, follow and walk in his steps. RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY

RETAINING YOUR INTEGRITY Integrity is a word which means steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. It also means the quality or condition of being complete and pure. It could also mean honesty, uprightness, purity, sincerity, decency, virtuous and wholeness. To retain is to keep in possession and maintain something. Many a time people find it difficult retaining their integrity. It takes determination to stand on your integrity. Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. GOD is a lover of men of integrity. Daniel 1 vs. 8-9: But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuch that he might not defile himself. Now GOD had brought Daniel into favor and tender love wi...

WORK ON THE WORD 2!

WORK ON THE WORD 2! David knew the essence of working on GOD’s word. He wrote in Psalm 33 vs. 4 (NIV): For the word of the LORD is right and true, he is faithful in all he does. He also hid GOD’s word in his heart that he might not sin against HIM. Psalm 119 vs. 11: Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Storing GOD’s word in our heart and doing according to it is working on the word. Keeping GOD’s commandment is working on his word. Proverbs 7 vs. 1-2: My sons, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of your eye.               Furthermore, working on GOD’s word is being the hearer and doer of the word. James wrote in James 1 vs. 22-24:  But be you doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like to a man beholding his natur...

AN OUTCAST

AN OUTCAST An outcast is one that has been excluded from a society or system. He is labeled a beggar. He is an outsider. An outcast is a person that lacks care. An outcast is neglected and overlooked. He is demoralized. He is wounded in heart. He is labeled whom no one cares. He is one that has lost hope. He is one who is frustrated and dejected. He is one who is always deep in thoughts and sorrowful. He is one who lives like a foreigner in his own land. He is one who is distressed. He is one who gets dispossessed of his possessions. He is one who is perplexed. He is one who is troubled on every side. He is one who is despair. He is afraid of tomorrow. CHRIST came that we might have a restored hope. He came to bare that burden of ours. He came to give us that expected end. He came that we might have peace. He came that we might be healed . Isaiah 53 vs. 5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and w...
